Isometrics: How the Activ5 Uses the Principles of Isometric Exercise to Build Strength
What is an isometric exercise? Isometrics are forms of exercise commonly used in Yoga, Pilates and core training in which the muscles exercise in static positions. In other words, one of your muscles exerts pressure while another resists. As a result, this exercises both muscles in the process.
For example, you can engage in isometric exercise by holding the Activ5 with both hands in front of your chest in a “prayer” position. Squeezing your core, you press against the Activ5 with both hands. This exercises both arms, your chest and your core abdominal muscles.
Furthermore, we add a dynamic element to isometric exercise because the Activ5 app will vary the pressure required. As a result, we call these exercises “VariobicsTM,” and they provide a variety of benefits including making it more fun.
VariobicsTM uses isometrics and the concept of resistance training to build strength and burn calories. Since these isometric exercises do not require a gym, you can work out with an Activ5 anywhere, anytime!
